Prefer VAR.P in new work
VARP is the name Excel used before 2010, when the statistical functions were
split into explicitly named sample and population versions. Both names work and always agree, and
VARP is kept so older workbooks recalculate unchanged.
In a new sheet, VAR.P says what it computes. With the old
names, the only way to tell the population version from the sample one is to remember which has the P.
